Sustainable Income

Sustainable income is vital to the survival of any organization. Without donations, humanitarian causes are just wishful thinking. Donations, or sustainable income, are any sources of monetary or in-kind support. Examples of these are:

Donate Page
Every nonprofit organization website should have a means for receiving donations. Having 501(c)(3) tax exempt status allows your organization to provide your donor with a tax deductible receipt.

Corporate Sponsorship
Corporate sponsorship can support causes in many ways. In addition to money, corporations can also donate their used equipment (e.g., computers, desks, furniture, etc.). Employees at many companies will even volunteer time in the name of the corporation.

Private Donations
Private donations are given by individuals like you and I. Dropping loose change in the bucket when you go to the stores at Christmas time, giving to the Policeman's Fund, sponsoring a child in a third-world country, or supporting a pet shelter are just a few examples of this.

In-Kind Support
In-kind donations refer to goods and services contributed in lieu of money.

Fundraising Events
Fundraising events, yet another source of income, can take the form of a telethons, walk-a-thons, fairs or carnivals, live or silent auctions, or bake sales. Selling candles, cookies, magazines, coupon books, wrapping paper, popcorn, gifts, as well as other items can bring in money to keep your cause afloat.

Shopping Cart
A shopping cart can be placed on your nonprofit organization's website. Visitors will be able to help support your cause by making purchases.
