United Charitable Programs

A fiscal sponsorship is a formal arrangement in which a 501(c)(3) public charity sponsors a project that may lack exempt status. This alternative to starting your own nonprofit allows you to seek grants and solicit tax-deductible donations under your sponsor's exempt status.

By fiscally sponsoring and supporting projects in different charitable areas in a transparent and cost-effective manner, United Charitable Programs is able to affect constructive social change at a grassroots level. Through a fiscal sponsor relationship with charitable projects, UCP provides nonprofit benefits without the burdens. They currently oversee about 1,000 active charitable programs. You can fill out an application online.

Once accepted as a program, complete oversight of the operation includes:

  • Deposit and disbursement of funds
  • Receipting of donor contributions
  • The filing of all state and federal tax forms (990, etc.)
  • Registrations in all applicable states for fundraising and solicitation
  • Real-time online access to the program account activity
  • Customizable online donation and event registration tool
  • Website creation (if they don't have one already)
  • Ensuring compliance with all 501(c)(3) regulations
  • Grant administration
